ABSTRACT

We all know that investments are made to achieve a certain return, be it monetary or otherwise. Project decisions are made based on multiple factors, some of which are better known than others, but include project cost, expected return based on anticipated demand and price of product and raw material, geopolitical stability of region (will the plant operate long enough to pay back its investment), transparency of policies, etc. In this chapter, we will take a high level view of what it takes, and see how sustainability can be priced in using conventional established approaches.
