Alternative cardiac imaging techniques

Echocardiography is not the only technique for diagnostic imaging of the heart. Knowledge of alternative imaging techniques can help you decide when another test might replace or supplement an echo study. This chapter describes the imaging techniques of nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging, cardiac computed tomography and cardiac catheterization.
