ABSTRACT
This chapter considers cardiac masses on echo, including tumours (primary and secondary), thrombus and vegetations. Normal variants and other conditions are also discussed, including moderator band, Lambl's excrescences, Eustachian valve, Chiari network, lipomatous hypertrophy of the interatrial septum, dilated vessels, cysts and implanted devices. The echo assessment of masses is described, and the appearances of common tumours are discussed, including myxoma, papillary fibroelastoma, lipoma, haemangioma, rhabdomyoma, fibroma and teratoma.
