ABSTRACT
Creating effective and powerful visualization to communicate the data and to discover insights is a challenging task. Tableau is a tool used to create a platter of visualizations for the same. Functional components of Tableau, appropriate use of measures and dimensions, use of marks, filter, pages and other aspects to create effective viz are discussed in this chapter. A hands-on approach to build viz in Tableau with an interactive dashboard and a story to make the journey of budding viz designer an interesting one is also put forth. The previous chapter dealt with the fundamentals, need of visualization. Now let us understand the preliminaries for the visualization and create some effective visualizations with Tableau.
