ABSTRACT
In this chapter, gravity is first put into context as one of the four forces of nature. The force of gravity is presented in the format of Newton’s Universal Law of Gravitation. An example of computing the force of gravity is given and discussed. The concept of the gravitational field is presented and the gravitational field strength at the surface of the Earth is computed to give meaning to the 9.8 N/kg used in the previous chapters. The concepts of universal gravitation are presented.
