ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the aspects of safety of machinery and of workers, as also the workers’ health aspects and environment issues. Safety aspects related specifically to oil mill operation are discussed at length, apart from a mention of common mechanical and electrical safety issues encountered in any process industry. Luckily, oil mill operation poses no serious health and environment hazards. A few issues related to boiler gases, dust and oil mist are described, along with their remedies.
