ABSTRACT

Having presented the basic background of organizational leadership with an industrial engineering framework, we now present the case of study of how Mr. Tunde Odunayo organized and led Honeywell Flour Mills (HFM), Lagos, Nigeria, from the ground up, until his retirement in 2014. His departure from the organization sent the company into a leadership tailspin that eventually led to the demise of the company in 2021. His success in creating the company from scratch is credited by the authors to his natural practice of many of the principles of industrial engineering, even though he was not an industrial engineer. Tunde Odunayo joined Honeywell in 1992 in the position of Group Managing Director and moved to Victoria Island.
