ABSTRACT

This case study is based on an international offshore EPC project executed for a project in South-East Asia. The project is unique in many aspects, mainly because of the entities involved and the uncertainties under which the project was tendered out. The terminology used here is different from the other case studies. The project scope consisted of three offshore wellhead platforms (WHP1, WHP2, and WHP3) and pipelines connecting them to a Central Processing Platform (being installed by another contractor). A part of the gas production was to be taken off for domestic use in the partner country, and the remaining gas was for export by the client. Apart from contracts team, members from various disciplines took additional responsibility for providing discipline-specific leads and supported the contracts team in formulation and timely submission of change orders to clients.
