ABSTRACT

This chapter demonstrates how an effective Strategy Realization Office (SRO) can greatly enhance Governance around strategy execution and monitoring. The processes, tools, and techniques utilized by the SRO are factual and reflect the great work of the SRO team and executive management. Candy making is as much an art as a skill. As Just Born matured in its candy-making, it has evolved its governance processes, both in the manufacturing and in project governance processes. In 2016, Just Born embarked on developing a Strategic Governance framework that would support the realization of business benefits for four primary business objectives. The governance framework, supporting processes, and associated metrics became the lynchpins in the Just Born Strategic Governance framework, which aligns with the six competencies of the Strategic Information Technology Governance 2.0 model. Collaboration is part of an ongoing process within Just Born. The SRO team developed many new tools and processes to optimize strategy execution at Just Born.
