ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book discusses the root causes of continuous project failure companies experience year after year. It also discusses how companies are moving from a reactive governance 1.0 model to a proactive 2.0 model to reduce project risk and improve project success by implementing the Strategic Information Technology (IT) Governance 2.0 framework. The book provides an overview of the Strategic IT Governance 2.0 framework. It also provides ten case studies of companies in different industries with different levels of organizational maturity that improved their project governance competencies by implementing components of the Strategic IT Governance model. Each company experienced project failure rates and recognized the need to improve its Strategic IT Governance 2.0 competency. Each case takes the reader through how each company implemented components of the six Strategic IT Governance 2.0 model.
