ABSTRACT

At the core, healthcare delivery deals with sensitive and confidential data. Moreover, many individuals are vulnerable and not fully mentally competent during a time of sickness. Further, many healthcare procedures do contain varying elements of risk. It is for all the aforementioned that risk management in healthcare is an important topic. In today’s digital health environment, we have now added another layer of complexity to risk management which is focused around cyber security. Thus, this chapter looks at risk management and cyber security and suggests best practice considerations.
