ABSTRACT

Today, technology advances especially in connection with the Internet of Things (IoT) as well as analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are transforming several industries. Healthcare is no exception. It is both an exciting and yet challenging time for healthcare delivery as it tries to navigate these advances, ensuring to embrace suitable technology solutions and yet in the words of Hippocrates “do no harm”. This is far from easy given the pace and volume of changes and advances as well as the fact that legal and regulatory bodies are struggling to keep up so at times there are few, if any, safe guards, protocols or provisions.
