Before the external assessment is performed, they agree a diagnostic assessment would help them identify gaps and prepare for the comprehensive assessment later on. They hire a consultant to perform the pre-QAIP assessment, and John sets expectations about the review, the materials, and the process that will be followed, and the role the entire team plays in benefiting the most from the exercise.
