ABSTRACT
Magnetic behaviour is shown by transition metals and inner transition metals. Effect of temperature on magnetism has been studied. Paramagnetic substances obey the curie law at high temperature. Curie point and neel point have been explained with the help of diagram. Paramagnetic, ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic behaviour have also been shown in the diagram. Calculations of magnetic moments and experimental determination of magnetic susceptibility have been discussed in this chapter. Proper explanation of quenching of orbital contribution towards magnetic moment has been given.
