ABSTRACT
This chapter summarizes several available non-destructive inspection methods within industry. Each technique has advantages and disadvantages. Ultrasound is a widely used NDI technique for detecting flaws or fractures within a structural component. The propagation of sound waves within a material is related to the material properties of bulk modulus and density.
