ABSTRACT

This chapter proposes an intelligent optimization unit which encompasses the input as medical data and delivers its output to be the optimal set of features to deliver decisions at proper levels. Accruing medical data by computer professionals for the research work is not so simple without collaboration of a medical practitioner. Clinical data prediction has become a critical factor with regard to day-to-day healthcare. The advance in information technology has led to an increasing affluence in order to collect various forms of healthcare data. The chapter describes the dataset used for evaluating the proposed algorithmic approaches. Datasets corresponding to diseases such as diabetic, heart disease, cancer, and diabetic retinopathy have all been considered for analysis. The Diabetic Retinopathy Dataset contains attributes that correspond to the features that are extracted from Messidor image data. This determines the sign of the presence of retinopathy.
