ABSTRACT

The conclusion about this book concerns in particular the novelty of the use of a scientific approach to the definition of technology as a physical process, and how the complex presence of physical, chemical and biological phenomena in a technology may be simplified considering these phenomena in terms of technological operations, constituting the structure of a technology. From this structure, it is possible to build up a general model of technology and of its innovation considered as a change of its structure that is independent of industrial or economic factors. Such change is considered to occur in structures organizing fluxes of knowledge and capitals. It is then possible to describe the complexity of technology and the relations of technology with the environment. Application of models of technology and its innovation concern for example the functioning of technology and the development of simulation model of technology innovation of a territory. Finally, the perspectives of future evolution of technology innovation are considered, through the formation of a network of industrial platforms, a description of the technological sectors that have the major possibilities of development, and discussion on the existence of some intrinsic dangers of technology evolution.
