ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the implication of technology innovation in the various types of innovations, especially of organizational type, which are at the basis for the effectiveness of organizations in developing new services and products adapted to the needs of consumers. It is possible to identify 15 types of innovations of organizational types, and 12 of them are more or less directly involved with technological innovation. Besides these types of organizational innovations, it is considered also a new type of innovation in which the purposes are not specifically technological, industrial or economic but rather social, meeting exigencies of people. These innovations have normally a technological involvement based on the use of ICT but not linked directly to scientific research.
