ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we discuss the perspectives of evolution and future of technology innovation. It consists of three parts. In the first part, we discuss the possibility of transformation of the present system of distributed innovation for the generation of new technologies into a system based on a network of industrial platforms, increasing the available knowledge for the development of new technologies. In the second part, we present the technological sectors that have, in our opinion, a high potential in the future development of technologies and that are: AI, synthetic biology, nanotechnologies and applications of quantum physics. In the third part, we discuss the possible intrinsic dangers of technology evolution concerning in particular the negative social impacts of ICT and of AI.
