ABSTRACT

Static timing analysis (STA) is a simulation method of computing the expected timing of a digital circuit without requiring simulation of the full circuit. Timing components are one of the most ubiquitous components in electronics. In electronics and especially synchronous digital circuits, a clock signal is a particular type of signal that oscillates between a high and a low state and is used as a metronome to coordinate actions of digital circuits. A crystal oscillator is an electronic oscillator circuit that uses the mechanical resonance of a vibrating crystal of piezoelectric material to create an electrical signal with a precise frequency. A clock generator is an electronic oscillator that produces a clock signal for use in synchronizing a circuit's operation. The distribution of clock in design is known as a clock tree. The clock signal should be reached to every element at the almost same time.
