ABSTRACT
The data mining techniques are used to extract hidden knowledge among the educational dataset. Data mining is a powerful technology with great potential that can be used for the extraction of hidden predictive information from large databases. Data mining techniques allow user to analyzed data from different dimensions categorized it and summarized the relationship, identified during mining process. Data mining function and products include machine learning, statistics, database, and information retrieval. Educational data mining (EDM), the new emerging field, concerns developing techniques that find out knowledge from data initiating from educational environments. There are varieties of popular EDM tasks, that is, classification, prediction, association rule, clustering, and outlier detection. The current educational system is facing numerous issues such as identifying students’ requirement, and predicting quality of student interactions. The objective of the reported research is to justify the potentials of data mining algorithms in context of higher education by developing a data mining model.
