ABSTRACT

While skill retention helps us in continuing to do our present job without any loss of efficiency or effectiveness, skill development gives us the ability to do our present job with better efficiency and effectiveness or perform the duties of the next level job efficiently and effectively. Most progressive organizations would have a career plan for their employees in which the employee progresses from the initial job and moves up on the corporate ladder provided that individual performs his/her job as expected producing the expected results at regular intervals. Soft skills are focused on making the individual a better person to make him/her a better team player. Measuring the effectiveness of a training program has been a paradox from the beginning. Every activity performed in professional organizations must be subjected to quality assurance. Quality assurance consists of two sets of activities, namely, the defect prevention activities and defect detection activities.
