ABSTRACT
We the readers of this book are researchers, but many of us may not have pondered on why we chose this profession. Often we end up reacting to our daily issues and soon we find ourselves confused and unhappy. This chapter investigates the question, and concludes that we all have our own reasons for the choice of this profession. It is not designed to give you the answer, but to facilitate you to explore the question for yourself. It provides a framework, and shows that though our reasons and circumstances may be unique, it is essential to continue to keep this question in our sights.
