ABSTRACT

The audience is international students, having a bachelor degree in electrical engineering and focusing now on a master curriculum in control, mechatronics, microelectronics, or microtechnology. All these fields develop rapidly, seeing an increase of computing and digital control. However, digital control not only means microelectronics and communication, but also sensing, because control needs information about what is going on. Venturi tubes are an interesting application of pressure sensors. Coriolis flowmeters repeat the principles of gyroscopes. And even magnetic sensing is active in flow: the electromagnetic flow sensor is just a Hall sensor turned upside down. Coriolis flowmeters repeat the principles of gyroscopes.
