ABSTRACT

Medicine deals with arguably the most precious possession authors have as human beings; our health along with its associated quality of life. Parallel advancements in non-medical disciplines have been largely responsible for the introduction of more specialized scientific techniques and instrumentation which catalyzed quantum leaps in prevention, diagnosis, prognosis, therapeutics, and medical research. Even experienced thyroidologists who are probably better able to interpret and tackle thyroid function test results more proficiently than the general specialist of internal diseases can have benefits when he or she is able to learn about the content and meaning of the subjects. Electrical engineers dedicating their knowledge and experience to biological modeling, working together with clinical experts, open the way to more effective models that could easily be applied on individual patient's data and develop a theoretical framework for practical applications and treatment in thyroid disorders.
