ABSTRACT
The literature survey portrayed in the present chapter has displayed the complexity of the data in terms of its size, structure, dimensions, and so on. The literature assessment reveals that the data mining techniques have also evolved with the changes in the data types. Moreover, with the ever-increasing applications on the web-based paradigm, the data mining techniques become too matured to cater to their requirements. Similarity and contrast of mining and classification techniques have also been presented herein. From the multitude of algorithms of data mining, four algorithms are covered and have been focused in the rest of the book.
