ABSTRACT

The diversity makeup of a company is not something that is required by law but something much of corporate America practices on their own and thus is not regulated or standardized. Note that this is different from discrimination, which is highly regulated and will be touched upon later in the chapter. Corporate diversity management refers to applying diversity in all layers of management.

Typically, there are five layers of management: Entry Level, Manager, Director, Vice president, and C-Suite

Corporate diversity is about broader depth, insights, and experiences to you as an individual and to your organization. No matter where you are on that spectrum (beginner to expert level), your organization’s diversity management programs have the ability to say a lot about your company. The importance you place on diversity can enable your success. Diversity management programs tend to act as a metric for a company’s success and ability to adapt in a changing corporate landscape.
