ABSTRACT
The RFA is a fleet of civilian crewed vessels which support the UK’s Royal Navy. This makes them an indispensable, but unusual, collection of vessels. In this chapter, we will discuss the role of the RFA and examine some of the main types of vessels that make up this essential arm of Britain’s naval defence forces.
