ABSTRACT

According to the World Health Organization, mHealth applications are software programs for smartphones and other devices that seek to positively affect the physical, mental, and social health of individuals. Consequently, mHealth applications, and medical applications, in particular, provide the potential to address general healthcare concerns and, more particularly, difficulties connected to type 1 and type 2 (T2DM) diabetes mellitus. This chapter evaluates the usefulness of five T2DM mHealth applications: Diabetes: M, mySugr, Glucose Buddy, OneTouch Reveal, and Blood Glucose Tracker. It evaluates the usability of five T2DM mHealth apps that might fulfill quality requirements in a broader sense. Diakoulaki et al. were the first to develop the CRiteria Importance through Intercriteria Correlation approach in 1995. The Additive Ratio Assessment approach is an innovative method that was pioneered by Zavadskas and Turskis. This method is based on the philosophy that the phenomenon of complex domains with contradictory attributes can be demonstrated by making use of effortless relative comparisons.
