ABSTRACT

A new route to a circular economy involving dispersed recycling and production is now possible because of additive manufacturing’s (AM) fast technological development. The term Distributed Recycling through Additive Manufacturing (DRAM) refers to the usage of recycled materials in the 3D printing production chain through the use of mechanical recycling. The purpose of this chapter is to review recent developments in thermoplastic recycling methods using additive manufacturing technology. Additionally in this chapter, we explored the reasons of plastic pollution and the scale-up process of large prints using waste plastic.
