ABSTRACT

An exception, quite important but hardly “visible” from the viewpoint of Computer Science, is that, already mentioned, of its role in Cosmology and General Relativity, in the garb of Einstein manifolds and Regge Calculus. Until quite recently, Ricci curvature has been quite a specious notion in the field of Differential Geometry. An exception, quite important but hardly “visible” from the viewpoint of Computer Science, is that, already mentioned, of its role in Cosmology and General Relativity, in the garb of Einstein manifolds and Regge Calculus. In the later case, cells – playing here the role of the planes in the classical setting of which sectional curvatures are to be averaged – are considered. The thickness condition, that ensures a metric “quasi-regularity” of the triangulation, supplies us only with weak estimates. To obtain stronger ones, one should be able to control the regularity of the combinatoric structure, as well.
