ABSTRACT

Depending on the Hospital’s rostering structure, COVID Wards can be like the regular Ward job or have an After Hours feel to it with multiple rostered shifts in coverage. The N95s are designed to be very close fitting to keep the virus out, but certainly presses one's face in. And one's face really doesn’t like being pressed in, especially the nasal bridge and cheek bones. One can try nasal pads just over the bridge of the nose and over the highest area of the cheek bones to minimise pressure areas. The Hospitals sometimes supply specialised gel or foam to help; alternatively, some dressings are very helpful, so one can ask friendly nurses for help there. There is usually a COVID Consultant or Senior Medical Officer who has oversight over the COVID response.
