ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on a survey study which was conducted in Moradabad population to find out the premalignant disorder in Tobacco users and Alcohol drinkers with special emphasis given on epidemiological, clinical, histopathological correlation. The study was done in Out Patient Department of Kothiwal Dental College and Research Centre in Moradabad and Oral cancer detection camps held in and around the Moradabad population. From the foresaid study the following conclusions are obtained: the most commonly affected age was third and fourth decade of life; premalignant disorders were closely related to the deleterious habits such as tobacco chewing; and as the duration of habits increased, the precancerous disorders became more dysplastic. To conclude a positive correlation was found between habits and precancerous disorders and it was noticed that as the duration of the lesion increased, the lesion became more Dysplastic with carcinomatous changes.
