ABSTRACT

This chapter formulates the congestion pricing problem in terms of either a maximization- or minimization-type problem. The goal is typically a maximization of throughput or minimization of travel times along the corridor. PTV-VISSIM is a transportation software tool used to model travel along a transportation network. Within the VISSIM network, one can model the flow along highways, arterials, intersections, and roundabouts. VISSIM also allows the modeling of the surrounding environments such as buildings, parks, and pedestrian traffic. ANOVA is a statistical technique that can be used to find the analysis of variance between and within groups of three or more. One-way ANOVA can be used with several groups (several algorithms) to test the travel times.
