ABSTRACT

Differential equations occur in problems that involve two or more variables, of which some behave independently and are known as independent variables. The other, which are functions of these independent variables, are known as dependent variables. Such problems are found in almost all branches of science, engineering, and technology. In case of the non-availability of any methods for finding solutions of a differential equation, it is intended to study the properties of solutions to get an idea of obtaining at least an approximate solution. The arbitrary constants involved in a general solution of a differential equation are said to be independent if the number of arbitrary constants cannot be reduced; that is, they cannot be made lesser in number. When presented with a differential equation, our first reaction would be to find all its solutions and express them in well-known functions. This can be done for a large number of equations.
