ABSTRACT

(1) Despite the 26 multimillion dollar companies from 10 countries profitably producing 56 products worth US$ 1,000 billion (2) 1.6 million human deaths and expenditure of US$ 7.2 billion on disease management, (3) loss of 25% commercial crops to the tune of one billion metric ton, (4) employment opportunities increasing at the rate of 13%, (5) service by ~ 100 research journals exclusively dedicated to fungal research and (6) receiving the Nobel Prize to three research teams since 1945 (compared to only two for zoologists), unfortunately, no university in the world offers degree courses in Mycology, especially when universities are searching for innovating teaching courses.
