ABSTRACT

It is important to know how to turn The Audit Adventure™ findings and the audit opinion (Good, Fair, Unsatisfactory, or Unacceptable) into a readable written audit report that is high-level and future-focused in its presentation. It should be an initiator of improvements in critical risk areas. An excellent audit report has an organized structure comprising executive summary, detailed findings with advice and recommendations, and relevant appendices. Liability disclaimer statements are discussed. An audit report should be proofread and peer-reviewed prior to submission to the auditee. An organization should develop a process for audit follow-up. This is often led by the head of internal audit on behalf of the internal audit committee.
