ABSTRACT
A secure and trusted environment is highly indispensable in the context of the emerging yet promising paradigm of intelligent transportation systems for facilitating the smart vehicles to communicate safety-critical messages with the other road entities and the supporting roadside infrastructure. The realization of such an environment is also imperative for the deployment of futuristic smart cities and whose success is primarily dependent on key factors such as the resiliency of the IoV networks along with the dissemination of authentic, accurate, and reliable information within the same. Chapter 5 hence summarizes the contribution of the book in its entirety for strengthening the resilience of the IoV networks via employing the notion of trust and the significance of the envisaged trust-based solutions for playing an indispensable role in realizing safe and intelligent traffic flows.
