ABSTRACT
This chapter presents various important aspects of software and robotic maintenance. It covers software maintenance-related facts and figures, software maintenance types, guidelines for reducing software maintenance and software maintenance tools, software maintenance cost estimation models, robot maintenance requirements and types, robot parts and tools for maintenance and repair, robot inspection, useful guidelines for safeguarding robot maintenance personnel, model for maximizing income of robot subject to repair, problems, and references. The software maintenance tools covered are impact analysis and software configuration management. There are two software maintenance cost estimation models covered in the chapter.
There are ten problems at the end of the chapter to test the reader’s comprehension in the area. Finally, it is added that the sources of most of the material presented in the chapter are given in its reference section. They will be useful to readers if they desire to delve more deeply into a specific topic or an area of interest.
