ABSTRACT

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? is a 1967 American romantic comedy-drama. The film depicts the social and cultural divide between Black and white Americans in the 1960s. The film was one of the few of the era to portray interracial marriage positively, as interracial marriage was historically illegal in many states in the United States of America. It was still illegal in 17 states until June 12, 1967, a mere six months before the film was released. Team diversity is the first action that needs to exist to combat racial bias in artificial intelligence. Next, companies simply need to hire more diverse talent in the technical AI field and across the board. This is important because delivering robust and fair AI systems often requires non-technical voices to ensure proper deployment. Many facial and voice recognition data sets are taken from the development community—sometimes from representative data sets that come from people who work for the company building the AI system.
