ABSTRACT

This chapter covers how differently Artificial Intelligence uses data when it is compared with Traditional Statistics. Traditional Statistics has been using data to solve problems for the past 150 years, which is quite different from how Artificial Intelligence has used data for the past 37 years to model and solve problems. Unfortunately, many scientists and engineers do not realize that there are significant differences between using data to solve problems using Artificial Intelligence and Traditional Statistics. Statisticians have not concluded that they also must be experts in engineering to be able to solve engineering-related problems using existing data. Deductive reasoning in the application of Traditional Statistics is quite different from inductive reasoning in the application of Artificial Intelligence, which will be explained in this chapter.
