ABSTRACT

This chapter covers “Explainable Artificial Intelligence” (XAI) in its science and engineering applications. Since Artificial Intelligence models physical phenomena purely based on facts and reality (actual measurement data), it can also provide “Explainable-AI” rather than representing the unexplainable “Black Boks” that is done in Artificial General Intelligence. Since traditional engineering modeling and solutions to physical phenomena could have always been explainable through mathematical equations, they also need to be explainable through Artificial Intelligence, as no mathematical equations are used to model the physical phenomena. This chapter shows how Artificial Intelligence of Science and Engineering can provide much information about the results of modeling physical phenomena using only actual data instead of mathematical equations.
