ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the issues of cost characteristics and factors that determine them. This chapter presents conceptual issues and classification of costs in the power industry. This chapter also presents the factors determining costs in the energy sector and the possibilities of cost optimisation. It should be emphasised that in the world of the 21st century, cost optimisation in the energy sector becomes a matter of the moment that results from many factors and conditions, which include the processes of energy transformation and concepts related to promotion and introduction of green energy.
