ABSTRACT

Scientific applications of remote sensing can be presented in different contexts. The principles of the scientific method are emphasized in order to demonstrate how knowledge for solving geographic problems can be communicated by scientific articles dissemination. Remote sensing has been viable for scalable, replicable and affordable mapping of land cover and land use change. Accurate details about the landscape are provided by classifying satellite images through image processing techniques, modeling, and use of classification algorithms. The objective of this chapter is to demonstrate the elaboration of a scientific article evaluate using multisensor approach to land cover classification of targets in the Funil dam region, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
