ABSTRACT
In this chapter, special concretes for some special projects are described. The most important types of special concrete, its production and implementation are introduced.
For each special concrete, first the definition of it with attention to the differences between this concrete and normal concrete is accomplished. Then the considerations for the production and implementation of the special concrete are described. The most important issues that you should mention for the production and mix design of this special concrete are discussed. Then the tests for the quality control of the special concrete are mentioned. Some of the tests could be the same as the tests of normal concrete with attention to the special results and some other tests could be specially designed for the special concrete with defined results. Finally, you can read an example for the description of the mix design of special concrete according to the considerations mentioned before.
As the most important concrete for the special purpose, self-compacting concrete (SCC), watertight concrete and making watertight structures, high-strength concrete and its use in concrete structures, ultra-high-strength concrete, mass concrete and the production of concrete for huge elements, and precast concrete and special consideration for the production of the precast elements are described.
