ABSTRACT

The key drivers for the digital transformation of the Intranet platforms are employee-related, business-related and technology-related. The main employee-related drivers are higher productivity, personalization, intuitive search, work-life balance and enhanced collaboration. The main technology-related drivers are mobile app enablement, enabling employees with chatbot and virtual assistants, providing Virtual Desktop Interfaces (VDIs) for employees. The main business drivers are improving the employee satisfaction and employee productivity. Employee journey (various phases of employee engagement) optimization, technology optimization, process optimization and governance are four dimensions required for transforming traditional websites into modern digital platforms. Employee journey optimization includes optimizing the experience during journey stages such as employee onboarding, employee orientation, employee learning and training and employee engagement. Employee Experience (EX) maturity model defines various stages of an organization’s readiness for building a robust digital workplace; EX maturity model consists of stages such as basic EX, integrated EX, optimized EX and smart EX. The key metrics to measure employee experience are higher inclusivity, increased agility, increased business revenue, higher talent attraction, cost reduction, increased productivity, employee retention, increased rate of innovation, employee satisfaction and faster time to market. The main four stages for transforming the Intranet as an employee experience platform are facelift, leveraging out-of-the-box features, consolidate and automate and continuous innovation.
