ABSTRACT
The first chapter of the book aims to identify and assess the challenges posed to the built environment due to climate change and EWE. With inputs from SDGs, challenges, and implications of achieving those and the vulnerability of the healthcare infrastructure to EWEs and climate change, the challenges in infrastructure development and its resilience are identified. Through a literature study, the nexus of climate change and EWE, and the paradox of development versus environment, is established.
