ABSTRACT
The use of biomarkers is becoming mission-critical in all pharmacological developments as well as within healthcare. In research, especially in preclinical applications, biomarkers have been used for a while, but now, more and more, they are also used in clinical work. In this chapter, we will look at the uses and ideas used in the development of biomarkers for different applications, like cancer biomarkers, cardiovascular biomarkers, and neurological biomarkers.
