ABSTRACT

DC voltage tests shall be carried out at a voltage, the ripple of which shall be less than 3% of its nominal value. AC voltage tests shall be carried out at alternating voltages with frequencies ranging from 45 to 65 Hz with a distortion of less than 5%. Similar to DC voltage tests, these tests are also tested with endurance, skip, and guaranteed jump voltages with the same procedure and method of their evaluation. Atmospheric and switching voltage pulses are used for voltage tests of electrical HV devices. Single-stage shock generators are used for the generation of test pulses up to amplitudes of tens of kilovolts, and multi-stage shock generators are used for the generation of pulses with amplitudes up to MV units. Shock wave tests are impulse-winding tests of all electrical machines. These tests are carried out not only in the manufacture of electric machines but also during their use in practice.
