ABSTRACT
Chapter 1 covers general chemistry topics. The elements, atomic structure, bonds, equations, reactions, gases, liquids, solids, acids, bases, thermodynamics, equilibrium, kinetics, and electrochemistry.
Chapter 1 has been revised with the several sections added or updated to be more comprehensive. Atomic Structure is a chapter by itself, and Periodic Trends is now part of Electronic Configuration and Periodic Trends. Chemical bonding has been broken into Types of Chemical Bonds and Chemical Bonding and now includes more detailed explanation of the different bonding theories. A new chapter, Chemical Formulas and Equations, has been added. The Classification of Chemical Reactions and the Activity Series of Metals are now located in Chapter 1, relocated from Chapter 2. A chapter covering Intermolecular Forces: Liquids and Solids has been added.
